As we walk into a house, our senses instantly capture a picture of the living conditions of the family who lived there before us. During a house remodel, we found a notebook that tells the story of one family’s struggles. Our priority is provide a safe and welcoming home for those who live in our houses so they will not need to write a list like this.
After seeing the great need in this area, we knew it would take a considerable amount of time to make make an impact in this community, that’s why we’ve made a commitment to serve in the Lincoln Village area until 2022.
We began by providing Lincoln Elementary School with financial and personnel support, as well as, a tutoring program. However, it didn’t take long before realizing the need to expand the vision past the educational needs. As a result of seeing unhealthy living conditions, the Lincoln Village Preservation Corporation was formed to purchase homes in order to renovate and restore safe living conditions to low-income families. As the ministry grows, blessings continue to pour in allowing access to medical, dental, legal, clothing, and nutritional support.
The community outreach continues to expand as well. Currently we host a single mothers support group, a Harvest Service, and worship at The Village Church.
Everything that flows from Lincoln Village Ministry provides opportunities to live out the gospel, serve neighbors, and be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ.
