These students were the first groups to help us get the Lincoln School ready after our recent purchase of the building. It was a humbling time to see the school being transformed right in front of our eyes. What a blessed time to see God’s plans unfolding.

Little did we know, God was preparing us for an enormous amount of growth and exciting opportunities. Our dreams were realized with the purchase of the Lincoln School last month. Since that time, we’ve begun working to prepare the school for its grand opening! After spring break, the current fifteen kids enrolled in Lincoln Academy will move to the new building. (Yippee!!!)

Many people are volunteering their time to prepare the school for the arrival of children. In fact, you’re welcome to join us…we’re calling it “Transforming Tuesdays.” Volunteers come to clean the facilities, landscape, paint, organize, etc.

Lord willing, next year the school will expand to sixty children who live in the Lincoln Village area and will serve K-8 grades. Each classroom will have 12 to 13 kids per teacher. It is our commitment to ensure deep academic content knowledge, critical thinking skills, and Christian character building to have students prepared for high school and college.

We would love to have you join us for our night of celebration taking place April 22, at 6:00 PM. This night is very important since we will spend time in corporate prayer asking that God bless this work and the children who will enter Lincoln Academy.

2011, like every year before, has shown God faithful to do exceedingly more than we could ask or imagine. God has blessed us with many friends who have come alongside us and allowed us the opportunity to expand our ministry to the families of Lincoln Village.

In early 2011, we were able to acquire a home and acreage to start us on the road to pursue a dream that has been in our hearts for years, a children’s home, that would allow Thor and Jenny to care for more children. More recently we were able to purchase another house in the Village, to continue our commitment to provide affordable housing to families struggling to provide for their children. 2011 also brought to reality another long awaited dream; in August we opened the doors to allow sixteen children from Lincoln to be the first students at Lincoln Academy. We would have considered all of that more than we could have asked for, but in late 2011 God had another blessing waiting for us. A blessing that would bring us to our knees, in humble thankfulness for all that he allows us to see and do. On February 1, 2012 we closed on the Lincoln School property, which will be the home to Lincoln Academy and Lincoln Village Ministry. It will be with hearts full of joy and amazement that we will enter the halls of a place we call “Home”.

Looking ahead to 2012, we are excited to see how God will grow and change us. Many of you have probably heard that, at this time, our founding church partner will not be able to continue in its financial support of Lincoln Village. We are sincerely grateful for the overwhelming amount of annual support that they have faithfully provided over the past ten years and the instrumental part they have played in establishing Lincoln Village Ministry. We only need to look back over the past year and every preceding year and see Lincoln Village Ministry in the palm of the hand of the Almighty God. God is faithful, God is at work, and it is God who draws people to invest in the ministry of Lincoln Village.

Our greatest desire in 2012 is that you all would join us, on our knees, before a Holy God, asking Him to “Show Us His Glory!” confident that He will, in all things, at all times.

“For I know the one in whom I have placed my confidence, and I am perfectly certain that the work he has committed to me is safe in his hands until that day.” 2 Tim. 1:12b.

Seeking Him in all Things,

The Lincoln Village Team
